Team Alberta Looks Forward To Working With New Government On Priorities For Farmers

Team Alberta is a collaboration of the province's crop commissions: Alberta Barley, Alberta Canola, Alberta Pulse Growers, and Alberta Wheat Commission. One of the team's priorities is continued access to international markets for nearly $5 billion dollars of Alberta crop exports.

Team Alberta is committed to working with the new provincial government to advance Alberta's $6 billion dollar crop sector.
That news follows the Alberta election on Tuesday, April 16th.
Team Alberta consists of Alberta Barley, Alberta Canola, the Alberta Pulse Growers and the Alberta Wheat Commission.
General Manager of Alberta Canola Ward Toma says one of their priorities will be looking at reducing carbon levies.
Meanwhile, he says canola crops look about the same for the 2019 growing season.

Toma notes Alberta is the primary source of canola exports to Asia.

Toma says Team Alberta will be working with the federal government and the provincial government on how we can find new markets to ease the burden on farmers following the China vs Canadian canola dispute.
