Olds RCMP responded to a complaint of a person carrying what appeared to be a rifle in the wooded tree reserve between Briegel Road and 63rd Avenue on Wednesday, May 20th.
Olds, Alberta - On Wednesday, May 20th, just before 9:00 PM, the Olds RCMP responded to a complaint of person carrying what appeared to be a rifle in the wooded tree reserve between Briegel Road and 63rd Avenue.
A child was at home watching a movie when she reported to her father that she had looked out a window and saw a person carrying a rifle behind their house near the wooded trails.
The child described the person as wearing all black clothing, including a black jacket with a large hood and that the person was about 5'4" to 5'6" tall. She lost sight of the person as the individual walked along the tree line and trails away from their house.
Police immediately responded and conducted extensive vehicle and foot patrols through the area. People who were walking on the trails at the time had not observed any suspicious persons or activity, nor did the police locate any persons by that description.
There appears to be no risk to the public at this time. However, police are asking that if anyone has knowledge of the incident or observes further concerning activity to please contact the Olds RCMP at 403-556-3323 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), online at www.P3Tips.com or using the P3 Tips app available through the Apple App or Google Play store.
