Innisfail RCMP - 24th Annual Charity Checkstop Results

Innisfail RCMP are thanking the community after another very successful charity checkstop. The total amount of money raised on Saturday, December 7th was up by nearly $3400 over the total from 2018.

The 24th annual Innisfail RCMP Charity Checkstop took place this past Saturday (December 7th).

Due to the generosity of the community a total of $12,279.50 in cash and cheques was raised. Additionally 6 carloads of high quality toys and gently used clothing items were collected for the Innisfail Christmas Bureau. 800 pounds of food was donated to the Innisfail food Bank by the citizen's of Innisfail and the surrounding area.  During the 23rd annual event in 2018, $8,882.18 in cash and cheques was collected along with 75 high quality toys, 10 bags of gently used clothing items and over 800 pounds of food.

In this season of giving and celebrating Innisfail RCMP are proud to provide as much help as we can to those less fortunate. The charitable organizations that these items will be donated to are the Innisfail Food Bank, the Christmas Bureau, the Red Deer Women's Outreach Society, as well as the Youth Positive Assets Coalition.

Innisfail RCMP would like to thank the following local businesses for providing donations: Nestle Purina, Innisfail CO-OP, A&W, Dairy Queen, Subway, Tim Horton's, McDonalds, Innisfail Bowling Lanes, Complete Catering, and the Innisfail Legion.

Mounties would also like to acknowledge the numerous volunteers who made this event possible. These volunteers include representatives from: the Innisfail Fire Department, Medavie Ambulance, Correctional Services Canada, the Town of Innisfail, The Town of Innisfail By-Law, Canadian Pacific Police, the Christmas Bureau, the Food Bank, the Red Deer Women's Outreach, the Youth Positive Assets Coalition, the Innisfail Rotary Club, Innisfail Restorative Justice, Innisfail local youth groups, and the local 4-H club. We would also like to thank Donnie Hill for being our Santa Clause, Janna Dahl for being Safety Bear, and Jim Seward (SOS Entertainment) for providing the Christmas Music.
