Ecole Olds High School has sent a letter to parents and guardians after a message was left in one of the school washrooms that contained a threat regarding the school. OHS is working with the RCMP to investigate this incident and ensure the safety of the school community.
In a letter sent to parents and guardians on Wednesday, February 26th Ecole Olds High School Principal Tom Christensen stated they are working with the RCMP to assess a message left in one of the school's washrooms this week.
It contained a threat regarding the school.
Christensen says they are working together to investigate this incident and ensure the safety of the school community.
Until the matter is completely resolved, RCMP will remain involved and they will be providing a strong presence at OHS.
Chinook's Edge School Division Superintendent Kurt Sacher says as a school division safety is always their top priority.
CESD has strict protocols around responding to this type of situation which involves the Central Office Leadership Team, according to Superintendent Kurt Sacher.
Sacher notes there are really strong relationships between students and staff at Ecole Olds High School.
As always, safety is the number one priority at Ecole Olds High School and throughout Chinook's Edge, and they will take their lead from the RCMP in these types of matters.
School days are proceeding as per usual at Ecole Olds High School.

Meanwhile, a pancake breakfast that was slated for Friday, February 28th to mark the 10th anniversary of the new Olds High School location has been cancelled.
