Tier 2 Olds Junior Mavericks Clinch Second Place

The Tier 2 Olds Junior Mavericks have clinched second place and a first round Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League playoff bye. Mavs Head Coach Andy Sweetman says they will now basically have 3 weeks off before their post-season begins.

The Olds Junior Mavericks have finished their first regular season of Tier 2 competition with 13 wins and only 3 losses.
Bret Marshall had 6 goals as part of a 15-7 home win on Saturday, June 18th over Medicine Hat.
Mavericks Head Coach Andy Sweetman was impressed with Marshall's performance against the Sun Devils.
On Sunday, June 19th the Mavs went to Ponoka and routed the Lacoka Locos 19-2 in their regular season finale.
Sweetman says they have locked up second place and a first round playoff bye.
He adds, the Mavericks will now have a break until the post-season begins for them on July 8th.
The Lethbridge Barricudas beat the Red Deer Renegades 14-7 in their final regular season game to finish in first place this year on the strength of 13 wins, 2 losses and 1 tie.
