A local athlete attended the Paralympic Trials in Toronto.
Swimmer Angela Other from the Olds Rapids Swim Club has recently returned from Toronto.
Her swim coach Graeme Gordon says it was a great experience and in the 100 metre breast stroke at the Paralympic Trials, Lother ended up in the B final. From there she moved up to 16th overall.
Gorden says they are now focusing on the Canada Summer Games for 2017 and the next Paralympic trials.
Lother competed in the S14 category, according to Gordon.
Meanwhile, Gordon attended the Masters Provincial Meet in Edmonton earlier this month. He says in the 35-39 age group, he was able to win all seven of his individual races.
Gordon says he is next looking forward to heading to Portland for U.S. Nationals.
