Olds Golf Club Hosts Central Qualifier For AB Golf's Men's Amateur Championship

The Olds Golf Club will be the backdrop for a pair of Alberta Golf events this year. On June 10th the central qualifier for the Sun Life Financial Men's Amateur Championship is in Olds. Then in August the Guardian Capital Alberta Senior Ladies Championship also comes to town.

Central qualifying for Alberta Golf's 2016 Sun Life Financial Men's Amateur Championship is being held at the Olds Golf Club.
Head Golf Pro Wade Bearchell says about 80 golfers - mostly in their 20s or 30s - from the Central Alberta and Red Deer areas have signed up to compete.
He says at about 6800 yards the Olds Golf Course is not particularly long but the greens will be fast with subtle breaks - plus there is the added challenge of several new and unfamiliar factors as well.
Bearchell explains what it means for the Olds Golf Club to annually be involved in hosting Alberta Golf competitions.
The players that qualify in Olds will advance to play in this year's Alberta Men's Amateur Championship from July 19th through the 22nd at the Innisfail Golf Club.
21 year old Brett Hogan from Calgary won the Provincial Amateur Championship in 2015.
