Olds Farmers & Farmerettes Bonspiel Results

This was the 36th edition of the event at the Olds Curling Club for the Farmers and the 33rd for the Farmerettes.

The annual Olds Farmers & Farmerettes Bonspiel wrapped up with the championship draws on Saturday, February 13th.

Taking home the A-event final and overall championship was Adam Winter with his Winter Masonry rink. They defeated Murray Stringer's 'Transfeeder' rink in the final 8-1.

Adam says they have been playing at the Olds Farmers Bonspiel for about eight or nine years and keep coming back due to the fun they have.

He adds it is great to see familiar faces at the Olds Curling Club and catch up all week long.

Winter's rink has won the A-event final three times including last year and in 2007.

The Farmers B-event saw Earl Grey with B&M Home Hardware defeat Larry Flessati with Blue Wave Energy, the C-event saw Darryl Roberts Olds Elks rink beat Ken Weseen with Olds Auction Mart and the D-event saw Travis Phillips Cervus Equipment rink get by Jeff Bauer with No Frills.

On the Farmerettes side, Skip Kim Lewis and her Reddi Mart Bowden rink won the A-event final over Judy Schmidt with Perry Appraisal.

Lewis adds it was another great bonspiel hosted by the Olds Curling Club.

The Farmerettes B-event final was won by Dorothy Dixon with Schmidt Transport as she defeated Shaina Snyder's Central Alberta Co-op rink and the C-event saw Shelly Bradshaw with Mountain View Insurance beat Angie Spreeman's Carlyle & Cody Law rink.
