OKCS Royals Racking Up Basketball Titles Again In 2016

The junior boys & girls teams continue to impress, while the 1-A zone tournament for the senior boys is coming to Olds Koinonia Christian School on March 11th & 12th. The Royals senior boys recently won their Chinook's Edge league championship by defeating Olds High School, while the Royals senior girls made it to their league final before coming up short against the Spartans.

The Olds Koinonia Christian School Royals have had big time success on the basketball court again this season.
The OKCS junior girls won zones for the 4th straight year. They defeated the host team from Linden 69-68 in overtime in the gold medal game last weekend.
Ken Taks, junior boys basketball coach with the Royals, says even though they have a small school there is huge interest in the sport.
Coach Taks notes the Olds Koinonia junior boys basketball team won their league for the third straight year when they defeated Didsbury 36-30 last week.
According to him, their success starts with a great one-two punch.
This is his 4th year behind the bench with the grade 8s & 9s at OKCS. Taks explains why coaching it is important to him.
The Royals junior boys returned from zones in Bassano over the weekend with a bronze medal thanks to a victory by a dozen points over Prairie Christian Academy from Three Hills.
