OHS Spartans Bring Back 4 Medals From ASAA Track & Field Provincials

Laura Klinck won gold for the Olds High School Spartans in the intermediate girls triple jump and she also captured a silver medal in long jump. Baylen Unger earned a silver for the Spartans in senior pole vault, while Dawson Green also brought home a silver for OHS in intermediate pole vault.

A handful of medals were won by local competitors at the ASAA Provincial Track & Field meet in Edmonton on June 3rd & 4th.
 
Laura Klinck from Olds High School won gold in triple jump with a leap of 11.04 meters. She also captured a silver medal in long jump by clearing 5.12 meters. Klinck's bid to medal in all four of her events came up a bit short as she placed 6th in the 100 meter dash & 7th in the 200 meter dash. 
 
Baylen Unger earned a silver for the Spartans in senior pole vault, while Dawson Green also brought home a silver for OHS in intermediate pole vault
 
Jansie Nel finished just off the podium in senior girls pole vault as she placed 4th. Thomas Rosenberger finished 5th for the Spartans in the senior javelin throw.
 
Overall in Edmonton at the ASAA Provincial Track & Field meet, Olds High School wound up 9th out of 59 schools in the 3-A standings.
 
Sundre High School finished 4th among the 2-A schools.
