OGs Prospect Profile - Riley Smith

Literally the biggest acquisition of the off-season for the Black & Gold was a 17 year old forward from St. Albert. Riley Smith stands 6'5" tall and weighs 190 pounds.

The easiest rookie to spot in the Olds Grizzlys lineup for 2015-2016 will be Riley Smith.

The 1997 born forward posted 11 goals, 22 points and 28 penalty minutes last season with the St. Albert Midget AAA Raiders.

Smith is getting his first chance to play junior 'A' hockey this year in Olds.

The AJHL preseason concluded for the Black & Gold on Thursday, September 3rd with a 4-2 loss to Camrose. A pair of forwards from St. Albert found the back of the net versus the Kodiaks with Smith and 16 year old Grizzlys sophomore forward Sean Richards providing the offense.

The OGs went 1-2-1 during their 4 exhibition games. Camrose will be back in town when the games begin to count for real in the standings. The Grizzlys host the Kodiaks for the start of the regular season on Friday, September 11th.
