MV Colts Unable To Add Provincial Success To Their Best Season Ever

The most successful season in Mountain View Colts history came to an end on Saturday, April 2nd at the Kinex Arena in Red Deer.

The Mountain View Colts could not advance past Pool A round robin play in Red Deer at Hockey Alberta's Provincial Junior B Championships over the weekend.
 
Mountain View finished with an 0-3 record. The Colts lost 8-5 to the Wetaskiwin Icemen on Thursday afternoon, 2-1 to the Wainwright Bisons on Friday night and 7-5 to the Calgary Royals-Gold on Saturday afternoon.
 
Head Coach Gord Olsen says it was still a memorable year for the Colts as they set a franchise record with 27 regular season victories, before going on to win their first ever HJHL championship by posting a 12-2 playoff record.
 
 
Olsen believes the Colts learned a lot by participating at their first ever provincial tournament.
 
 
He reflected on the careers of Mountain View's graduating 1994 born defencemen Dennis Lawrence and Clinton Armitage.
 
 
The North Peace Navigators won the Junior B Provincial banner by defeating the Wainwright Bisons 3-2 on Sunday, April 3rd
 
Also on Sunday, the host team - the Red Deer Vipers - lost the bronze medal game 3-2 to the Westaskiwin Icemen.
