MV Colts Clash With Cochrane In HJHL Championship Series
The Heritage Junior B Hockey League championship series starts on Tuesday, March 15th in Cochrane.
The Mountain View Colts are in the league final for the first time since 1992 and they are set to visit the Generals at 8pm for Game 1 of the best of seven series.
Cochrane was 18-0-1 at home during the regular season and in the playoffs the Generals are 5-0 at the Spray Lakes Family Sports Center. That one blemish was a 5-4 overtime loss that the Colts handed the Generals on January 9th.
Head Coach Gord Olsen knows it will be a tough series but his Colts managed to win a pair of one goal games during the two regular season meetings with Cochrane.
The other regular season victory for Mountain View (27-10-1) versus the Generals (29-5-4) was at home by the score of 6-5 on October 16th, 2015.
The Colts also had a dominant record in their barn this year. At the Didsbury Memorial Complex, Mountain View was 16-3 in the regular season and they have gone 4-0 there in the playoffs.
When the HJHL championship series shifts to Didsbury for Game 2 on Wednesday, March 16th at 8pm, 96.5 CKFM will have live play-by-play coverage.
CKFM will also have the call of Game 3 from Cochrane on Friday, March 18th.
