Mountain View Colts Set To Begin HJHL Regular Season On 96.5 CKFM

8pm on Friday, September 18th is opening night at the Didsbury Memorial Complex for the 2015-2016 Heritage Junior B Hockey League regular season. If you can't make it to the rink tune in to 96.5 CKFM to hear live play-by-play coverage of the Mountain View Colts vs the Banff Academy Bears.

A brand new season of HJHL action is ready to get started in Central Alberta.

The Mountain View Colts are looking jump to the top of the Northern Division standings when they and the Banff Academy Bears face off. No other teams are slated to start playing games that count until Saturday.

Head Coach Gord Olsen says - as is always the case in junior hockey - there are some key veteran players who the Colts have lost to graduation.

Olsen is confident many of his returning players are ready to take a big step forward this season.

The Colts bench boss breaks down the competition in the Northern Division.

On Saturday Coach Olsen's crew plays its first road game in Medicine Hat, while Banff will travel to Ponoka.

Last season Mountain View finished third in the Northern Division with 47 points in 38 games (22-13-3). The Colts were just one point back of second place Airdrie. In the playoffs the boys from Didsbury struck down the Lightning in a best of 3 first round series that went the distance. Round two saw Mountain View silence the Thunder in six games. Blackfalds brought the Colts great post-season push to an end with a sweep in the Northern Division Finals.
