Meadow Creek Equestrian Vaulters Going To World Championships

A pair of competitors from the Meadow Creek Vaulting Club in Olds are in Europe right now preparing for the World Equestrian Vaulting Championships. 29 year old Jeanine van der Sluijs will be competing in the senior women's individual event, while 12 year old Averill Saunders is the youngest member of the Canadian Team. Saunders will participate in the squad event.

Jeanine van der Sluijs will be heading to the World Equestrian Vaulting Championships again later this month.
 
The 29 year old is one of the founding members of the Meadow Creek Vaulting Club in Olds.
 
van der Sluijs will compete against about 40 other participants in the senior women's individual event.
 
The World Championships are held bi-annualy and she has been going since 2010.
 
 
This year van der Sluijs qualified first in Canada in the senior women's individual event.
 
She will be joined at the World Vaulting Championships in France from August 18th to the 21st, by fellow Olds product Averill Saunders.
 
 
At just 12 years old, Saunders is the youngest member of the Canadian Team that will participate in the squad event.
