Local Cowboy Excited To Be Part Of Opening Night At Oldstoberfest

While competing on the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association tour since 2005, Penhold's Todd Herzog has had opportunities to participate annually at pro events in Innisfail & Rocky Mountain House. This year he will once again be able to bust out of the shutes at the Olds Regional Exhibition grounds.

The arrival Oldstoberfest this weekend also means the return of pro rodeo to the town of Olds.

6pm on Friday and 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon are the start times for times for the first full CPRA event at the ORE grounds since 2009.

Saddle bronc rider Todd Herzog from Penhold is real happy to see Olds back on the pro circuit.

During the Friday, September 18th performance he has drawn Bar C5 Rodeo's Veronica.

Herzog's biggest win of the season came last month at the Daines Ranch. He was the top saddle bronc rider during the 2015 Glencross Invitational Charity Roughstock event.

With a strong finish to the final few events of the season he is still hoping to qualify for the October's Pro Rodeo Canada Series Finals in Calgary and November's Canadian Finals Rodeo in Edmonton.
