Leonard Twins From Olds Skating To SAIT To Pursue ACAC WHKY Careers

Dayna and Kelly Leonard will move up from the Olds Midget 'A' Grizzlys next season to play ACAC women's hockey. Terry Larson, Head Coach of the SAIT Trojans, loves to see Albertans commit to joining their program because when they come into places like Olds they have a few more fans show up to cheer them on.

Next season a pair of players from the Olds Midget 'A' Grizzlys will be joining the women's hockey program at SAIT.

Trojans Head Coach Terry Larson really liked what he saw both from Dayna and Kelly Leonard when they had them skate with his team.

Larson says SAIT has had other players from the Olds Midget Grizzlys in the past like Bianca Zuber and he is looking for the same kind of thing from the Leonard twins.

He explains what roles he expects them to play during their freshman year at SAIT.

Dayna and Kelly were part of a delegation from Olds Minor Hockey that attended the Monday, January 25th council meeting. Town council approved a $1000 donation to help the host committee for the Midget 'A' Girls Provincials. That event will run in Olds from March 10 through the 13th at the SportsComplex.

As for this ACAC season, Larson's Trojans clinched a playoff spot as they got by the Olds College Broncos in a pair of close games. The Trojans won 3-1 in Olds on Thursday, January 28th and on Saturday, January 29th in Calgary they slipped past the Broncos 2-1.
