Laura Klinck Collects Four First Place Finishes For OHS At Zone Track Meet

The top individual performer for the second year in a row at the South Central Zone Track & Field meet was Olds High School Spartan Laura Klinck.

Laura Klinck is one of six members of the Olds High School Spartans who will be heading to the ASAA Provincial Track & Field meet in Edmonton.
The 17 year old grade 11 student finished first in all four of her events at the South Central Zones on May 24th at Foothills Athletic Park in Calgary - that included the intermediate 100 & 200 meter dash, the long jump as well as the triple jump.
She wound up being the top individual performer at South Central Zones for the second year in a row. Right behind her in second in the points standings was Claudia Mennear from Sundre High and another Sundre Scorpion - Taylor Pierunek - finished in a tie for third.
Klinck explains which event is her favorite.
Wanda Vandervelden is the OHS Athletic Director and the Track Coach. She says Laura is very dedicated and also works out with the Calgary Warriors Club.
Also representing OHS at the ASAA Track & Field Provincials on June 3rd & 4th in Edmonton will be Laura's brother Alan Klinck plus Thomas Rosenberger, Baylen Unger, Dawson Green and Janine Nel.
