Kevin Waldron From Olds Grabs Greco-Roman Silver Medal At Nationals

Top wrestlers from across the country headed to the the Jack Simpson Gymnasium at the University of Calgary from April 14-17th for the Cadet/Juvenile Nationals.

The Central Alberta Wrestling Club sent six competitors to Nationals last weekend in Calgary.
At the Wrestling Canada event, Kevin Waldron from Olds earned a silver medal in the Juvenile Greco-Roman 85 kilogram class.
This was the forth trip to Nationals for the grade 12 student at Olds High School. It caps off a senior year where Waldron earned a medal at every event he attended.
Waldron explains what it has meant have George Grant as his coach for both Spartans football and wrestling.
He is planning on going to University next fall and has offers to wrestle for either Calgary Dinos or the Regina Cougars.
Kevin's older brother Austin is in his second year on the U of Regina wrestling team.
Meanwhile Chase Molitor, Anthony Focker, Seth Quilley and Phoenix Graham also made the trip to Calgary to participate at nationals for the Central Alberta Wrestling Club.
Kamryn Leavitt from Rocky Mountain House wound up 4th in the women's Juvenile Greco-Roman 60 kilogram class at Nationals.
