Jenna Suokko Leads OC WHKY In Scoring, International Appearances During Inaugural Season

First year player Jenna Suokko from Tampere, Finland was the top offensive performer for Olds College this year. The ACAC regular season finished up for the Lady Broncos with a 4-1 home loss to the first place Red Deer College Queens on Friday, February 19th.

The inaugural ACAC season for the Olds College Broncos women's hockey team has concluded.
Their first year included an opportunity for Olds College forward Jenna Suokko play internationally in the Four Nation's Cup for her home country of Finland.
Olds College's Head Coach Sara Hilworth says Suokko just loves the game, is fun to coach and it has been exciting to watch her develop as a player.
In January, Finland lost 4-3 in overtime to Team Canada in the final of the 2016 Four Nation's Cup.
Suokko says the Finns are an improving women's hockey nation.
She led Olds College in goals with 8 this season and points with 12 during her 22 games.
The Lady Broncos did not wind up making the ACAC playoffs finishing with a 5-18 and 1 record during their inaugural season of women's hockey, but Suokko says she enjoyed playing for Head Coach Sara Hilworth.
Suokko has represented Finland three times in international competition during her career and another of her dreams is to play in the Olympics for her home country.
Bob Murray, OC's Executive Director of Campaign & Athletics, enjoyed seeing one of Olds College's athletes excel on the international stage.
The women's hockey prospects camp for the Olds College Broncos starts on April 1st.
