First Playoff Battle Of The Bears Since 2008

The Alberta Junior Hockey League playoffs begin on Thursday, March 10th for the Olds Grizzlys as they will board the bus and head to Camrose. Game 1 of their best of five opening round series versus the Kodiaks can be heard live at 7pm on 96.5 CKFM.

The glass half full approach to the AJHL playoffs includes a couple of key positives for the Olds Grizzlys..
1. The start of round one means the 18 game winless slide they finished the regular season is a thing of the past.
2. Their last win came in Camrose - the same place they are visiting for the start of their best of five opening round series with the Kodiaks - by the score of 3-2 on January 22nd.
3. Grizzlys Head Coach Dana Lattery says they also have a young group of players who are excited to compete in the playoffs.
Lattery says the Kodiaks are a deep hockey team with a balanced scoring attack.
The Kodiaks (38-18-4) finished 2nd in the AJHL's South Division, 44 points ahead of the 7th place Grizzlys (16-40-4). Camrose also won 5 out of the 6 regular season meetings with the Black & Gold.So Olds will be a heavy underdog in the battle of the bears - but who doesn't love an underdog?
The last post-season battle of the bears in 2008 saw Camrose get past the OGs in 6 games in the second round.
