Lee Adamson from Camrose and Neil Salmond from Weekes, Saskatchewan will be splitting a cheque for $2500 dollars. As heard on 96.5 CKFM they crossed the finish line in a dead heat in Red Deer during the dash for cash as part of the North American Pony Chuckwagon Championships. Adamson was crowned the 2016 champion after recording the top total aggregate running time during the week of racing at Westerner Days.
Dash For Cash Ends In A Photo Finish
Tom Sawyer - the veteran voice of the All-Pro Canadian Chuckwagon & Chariot Association's Taste of Dust Tour - had the call on 96.5 CKFM on Sunday, July 24th at Westerner Park of what turned out to be a rare tie in the $2500 dollar dash for cash.
The 2016 North American Pony Chuckwagon Championships concluded with Neil Salmond's ABC Restaurant outfit crossing the finish line at exactly the same time as Lee Adamson's A-1 Supply wagon - 1:16.92.
Salmond is from Weekes, Saskatchewan and he settles for a tie this time around, after securing sole possession of first place in the Dash for Cash at Westerner Days in each of the past two years.
The 48 year old Adamson is a product of Camrose and he wins the North American Pony Chuckwagon Championships with a total aggregate running time for the week in Red Deer of 6:26.25.
Neil Salmond was second in the aggregate and North Dakota's Reed Rosencrans rounded out the top three.
