Bow Diesel Innisfail Eagles Report - February 10th

For the third season in a row the Innisfail Eagles and the Bentely Generals are set to meet in the provincial senior men's AAA playoffs.

This year's first taste of playoff hockey in the region is coming up Friday, February 12th in Innisfail.

The Bentley Generals come to the Twin Arenas at 8:30 for game one of a best of seven provincial AAA semi-final.

The way the series is scheduled gives the Eagles the chance to start it on home ice and Innisfail forward Adam Johnson thinks it is a great opportunity.

Johnson is in his first year with the Eagles, but he knows many of his teammates will be looking for some revenge against Bentley.

The 26 year old from Hay Lakes, Alberta played in the AJHL for the Fort McMurray Oil Barons before continuing his hockey career with the ACAC's Augustana University Vikings. In his first Chinook Hockey League season with Innisfail, Johnson contributed 2 goals, 5 assists and 8 penalty minutes in 18 games.

Bentley hosts game two on Family Day Monday at 2pm in Lacombe. The Generals swept Innisfail in both the 2014 and 2015 provincial finals.

Meanwhile, this year's other provincial AAA semi-final series starts on Saturday, February 13th with Stony Plain hosting Fort Saskatchewan.
