Bomersback's Breakaway Goal Beats Bentley In Overtime; Innisfail Takes 3-2 Series Lead

The road team continues to thrive in the senior men's provincial AAA semi-final between Innisfail and Bentley. The Eagles have won three times in Lacombe to move within one victory of a third straight trip to the Alberta final.

That is what it sounded like on 96.5 CKFM on Sunday, February 28th as the Innisfail Eagles beat Bentley 3-2 in O.T.
Eagles overtime hero Mark Bomersback says belief is building that they can defeat the Generals in their provincial AAA semi-final.
The 33 year old from Rochester, Alberta says it was a risky play to make a late change at the Innisfail bench but it worked out as he got behind the Bentley defencemen.
It is the second 3-2 overtime win of the series for the Birds. Darrin Robak had the OT winner in Game 2.
Game 6 between the Bentley Generals and the Eagles is coming up this Saturday night March 5th at 7:30 in Innisfail. If necessary Game 7 would be back in Lacombe on Sunday, March 6th at 7:15pm.
Whichever team wins the best of seven series will advance to play Stony Plain in the Alberta Final. The Northern Birds finished off a four game sweep of the Chiefs with a 5-2 win on Saturday, February 27th in Fort Saskatchewan.
