Baseball Alberta's Senior AA Provincials Coming To Innisfail

Round robin games will begin Saturday, July 30th and the championship will be decided in the gold medal game on Heritage Day Monday, August 1st at 1pm.

The host Innisfail Indians will battle it out at for a senior AA provincial title along with the Calgary Cardinals, the Calgary Giants and the Cold Lake Cardinals.
Steven Bouteiller, General Manager and Coach of the Indians, says it is Innisfail's first chance to host this provincial event and his expectations for success are pretty high.
Bouteiller says the last time Innisfail participated in the senior AA provincials was 2008 when they lost in the semi-finals and the last time they won a medal was a silver in 2007.
He adds they have been approved for a beer gardens, extra bleachers have been put up, there is no admission charge to watch the provincial tourney and they are always looking for volunteers to help out with diamond maintenance in Innisfail throughout the weekend as well.
The Indians first game is on Saturday, July 30th at 3pm against the Calgary Cardinals. On Sunday, July 31st Innisfail takes on the Calgary Giants at 9am and the Cold Lake Cardinals at 6pm.
Meanwhile with one game remaining in the Parkland Baseball League regular season, the Innisfail Indians have an 11 and 4 record.
That is good for a tie for first place along with the Red Deer Razorbacks. The PBL's league final tournament will run from August 5th through the 7th in Lacombe.
