Another Orban Registers A Point For OGs

Wearing a Black & Gold jersey is a family tradition for Olds Grizzlys forward James Orban.

18 year old forward James Orban from Calgary recently played his fifth career game with the Olds Grizzlys.

He is the sixth member of his family to play for the AJHL's Olds Grizzlys/Taber Golden Suns franchise.

Jerry Orban suited up for Taber in the 1970s, followed by Chris and Scott for Olds in the 80s.

James remembers making trips with his uncle Chris to see his cousin Brance play for the Grizzlys in the late 2000s.

His brother Blake also played for the Grizzlys in the 2009-2010 season before moving on to the WHL.

The most recent Orban to play for Olds collected his first Alberta Junior Hockey League point on Tuesday, February 23rd. James picked up an assist as part of a 5-4 loss to the Drayton Valley Thunder.

The Calgary Buffaloes Midget AAA product enjoyed a solid night on a line with Ryley Smith from Huxley and James Gaume (GOM) from Red Deer.

According to Elite Prospects website, Orban had 9 goals, 27 points and 24 penalty minutes in 32 regular season games during 2015-2016 with the Calgary Buffaloes of the AMHL.
