Winter Wind Storm

Extreme winds wreaked havoc across central and southern Alberta on Sunday.

Wind speeds up to 126 km/hr were recorded at the Didsbury weather station on Sunday afternoon while similar conditions wreaked havoc across central and southern Alberta.

Gerard Fournier, owner of For Trees Company, has been working hard to clear tipped over trees around central Alberta. He encourages people to take preventative measures by having their trees inspected.


13 year old Christian Caputo recorded some of the damage wind can do first hand while driving on the QE2 with his mom.


The windstorm hit Calgary hard as it caused an estimated one-million dollars in damage.
