The delegate body of the United Farmers of Alberta Co-operative Limited (UFA) decided to create its Rural Communities Foundation in 2014. Harvey Hagman - a UFA Director & Chair of the Foundation - says the money put into the RCF came from its members in the form of archived equity. RCF will award applications from a minimum of $10,000 dollars up to $100,000 this year.
A financial commitment of a half a million dollars is being made over the next five years to rural communities across its network by the United Farmers of Alberta Co-operative Limited's Rural Communities Foundation.
Harvey Hagman - a UFA Director & Chair of the Foundation - says the mandate of the RCF is to improve the sustainability of farmers & ranchers in Alberta by improving access for funding for educational, recreational & cultural facilities as well as programs in their communities.
He explains which groups are eligible to apply for the RCF grant.
Hagman notes all of the projects must align with one of the three funding categories of recreational, education events & activities or cultural facilities & programs.
For more information on how to apply for the RCF grant visit the website www.RCFUFA.com.
Hagman says there is a two month application period from now (July 2nd) through until August 31st.
