Town of Sundre Joins Southern Alberta Energy From Waste Association

The Town of Sundre will be joining 62 other municipalities in an organization to help do their part and become more "green".

Sundre town council has decided to become members of Southern Alberta Energy-from-Waste Association (SAEWA).
Mayor Terry Leslie says the town wants to be part of any environmentally friendly alternative.
Leslie says there was a presentation made to town council earlier this year about the organization.
He says rural municipalities are looking at trying to be more effective, efficient and use waste to generate energy and reduce the amount that is going into landfills.
To join SAEWA, the town has allocated just over $1000 from the Legislative Municipal Membership/Conference Fees Budget for the 2016 membership.
