The cause of a structure fire at 5229 Silverthorne Road in the town of Olds on Saturday, February 1st is currently under investigation. There were no reported injuries to any occupants or firefighters.
The town of Olds Fire Department was recently dispatched to a reported structure fire at 5229 Silverthorne Road.
It happened at about 3:30am on Saturday, February 1st.
According to Fire Chief Justin Andrew, Olds Fire arrived at a working structure fire involving a detached garage and an adjacent vehicle. An offensive fire attack was initiated no the structure and affected exposures. The fire was quickly knocked down and deemed under control within 30 minutes using two engines and an aerial ladder truck with a total of 12 firefighters.
Didsbury Fire was called as mutual aid to support operations and provide crew relief. Crews were on scene for approximately two hours managing the incident. AHS EMS provided an ALS ambulance for firefighter and occupant safety.
There were no reported injuries of any occupants or firefighters. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. If anyone has information relating to this incident, please contact the Olds Fire Department.
