Town of Olds 2018 Budget Deliberations

Chief Administrative Officer Michael Merritt expects the town's 2018 budget will be back for more discussion and hopefully approval at the Olds council meeting on December 11th.

The town of Olds is pretty close to the final stages of the 2018 budget deliberations, according to CAO Michael Merritt.
The Chief Administrative Officer for the town says the 2018 budget was presented at Olds council's policies and priorities committee meeting on Monday, November 20th.
Merritt says the town's community policing, its bylaw officer and what approach to take on those issues was part of the discussions. He notes that initially Olds was looking at adding a new community police officer.
Merritt says the town is holding the line to about a 2% municipal property tax increase.
He says the proposed operating budget is about $28.4 million dollars, while the proposed capital budget is approximately $7.5 million.
