Tim Horton's Smile Cookie Campaign Supports Special Olympics Olds & District

The Tim Hortons locations in Olds, Didsbury, Innisfail, and Sundre sold a total of 13,750 smile cookies during the September 12-18th fundraising campaign. That is according to District Manager Sherry Meyer. She notes this year's funds will benefit Special Olympics Olds & District.

The coach for Special Olympics Olds & District thanks everyone in Olds, Innisfail, Didsbury, and Sundre who participated in the recent Tim Hortons smile cookie campaign.
 
Karen Mengersen says $13,750 dollars was raised for Special Olympics in Olds and area. She says it will go towards their 12 sports, transportation to tournaments, new team shirts, and purchasing equipment for their new sport of snowshoeing this year.
 
 
She adds one of their major tournaments this fall is floor hockey in Edmonton, which comes with well over $1,000 dollars in transportation costs.
 
 
Mengersen says 5 and 10 pin bowling started the week of September 18th with 105 athletes signed up. More fall sports include floor hockey, curling, swimming, and rhythmic gymnastics.
