The Sundre and District Health Professionals Attraction Committee is looking to recruit 6 doctors over the next 15 months, and they presented their goals and objectives at Wednesday's Mountain View County council meeting.
Dr.Hal Irvine, Site Medical Director at the Sundre Hospital, talks about the
greatest challenge they face when recruiting new physicians.
The committee requested that council become engaged in their recruitment process - in particular by having a member sitting on the committee and having council consider working with the town to provide an $18 000 housing grant for recruited physicians.
There are 48 General Practitioner vacancies in the province's Central Zone.
