$20,000 dollars has been raised for the Sundre Aquaplex thanks to Mountain View Credit Union's 8th annual charity golf tournament.
On a beautiful hot day where everyone certainly could have used a dip in the pool to cool down, the Mountain View Credit Union golf tournament raised $20,000 for the Sundre Aquaplex.
MVCU's 8th annual charity tourney was held on Thursday, July 5th.
Leona Bennett, Treasurer with the Sundre & District Aquatic Society, says they have been fundraising to cover the cost of replacing their existing waterslide with a brand new one.
Bennett was thrilled with support from everyone who participated in the tourney at the Coyote Creek Golf & RV Resort
Meanwhile, Steven Brezinski - President of Mountain View Financial - notes their members recently voted 87 per cent in favour of amalgamating with Connect First Credit Union. The merger will officially take effect August 1st.
He says they were very pleased to have some of their new colleagues join them for yesterday's golf tournament.
Brezinski adds, Mountain View Credit Union has raised a total of $155,000 dollars for various local community groups and organizations through the golf tournament during the past 8 years.
In previous years the tournament has provided funds for Habitat For Humanity Mountain View, the Olds & District Hospice Society, the Olds Emergency Shelter, Didsbury Jazzfest, the Olds Splash Park Association, the Carstairs Skatepark and the Didsbury Municipal Library.
