Recap of AUMA Convention With Olds Mayor

Traffic and infrastructure were only some of the topics discussed during the Alberta Urban Municipalities Association convention in Calgary from November 22-24th, according to town of Olds Mayor Michael Muzychka.

The Town of Olds Mayor and Council were in Calgary during the Alberta Urban Municipalities Association's 2017 convention.
 
Mayor Michael Muzychka says during AUMA, he, council and CAO Michael Merritt had a great one on one meeting with the Minister of Infrastructure Sandra Jansen along with her staff.
 
 
He says the Olds delegation also had very good discussions with the Minister of Transportation's staff.
 
 
The Olds Mayor, Olds Council, and CAO Michael Merritt also heard about some of the upcoming cannabis legalization laws. Muzychka says they expect to hear more from the government about that topic before the New Year.
 
 
Mayor Muzychka says it was also great to hear from Premier Rachel Notley.
 

Mayor Muzychka says Olds Council also met with Minister of Municipal Affairs Shaye Anderson who awarded the town an honorable mention for public engagement for the "This Affects You" campaign.
