Oldstoberfest Week Is Here

It is Oldstoberfest week in the town of Olds. The world's only Bavarian rodeo and biergarten's debut in 2015 was followed by a one year abscence, but C5 Rodeo is bringing it back for 2017. 96.5 CKFM will have live coverage of the opening night of pro rodeo action at 6pm on Friday, September 15th.

Rodeo, a biergarten and a grandstand concert will all be part of Oldstoberfest on the Olds Regional Exhibition grounds.

C5 Rodeo Coordinator Gillian Grant says not only does Oldstoberfest celebrate western culture, but it also celebrates Bavarian culture.

She notes they will also be serving local craft beers from the Olds College Brewery as well as Red Deer's Troubled Monk Brewery.

Grant is expecting there to be great crowds for the pro rodeo performances at 6pm on both Friday, September 15th and Saturday, September 16th.

Oldstoberfest is also very proud of being able to support a lot of local not-for-profit organizations & service groups, according to Grant.

Grant adds, there is also a picket fence market taking place from 10am until 4pm at the Olds Regional Exhibition Cow Palace on Saturday.

Head online to Oldstoberfest.com to get tickets. Tickets are also available in advance at the Pomeroy Inn & Suites or at the gate.

Canadian country singer-songwriter Tim Hicks will perform a grandstand concert Saturday evening at 8.
