Olds RCMP & Olds Fire Department Investigate Two Incidents Of Arson

Police believe a pair of recent incidents of arson are related and that the fires were set intentionally. Witnesses and surveillance video have provided some leads for police follow up, however no suspects have been identified at this time.

Olds, Alberta ~ At approximately 3:30am on Saturday, February 1st, the Olds Fire Department responded to a structure fire in a back alley in the area of Silverthorne Road in Olds.  A detached garage and adjacent vehicle were significantly damaged in the fire.  Firefighters on scene determined the cause fire to be suspicious in nature and contacted the Olds RCMP.
 
On Tuesday, February 11th, at approximate 6:45am, the Olds RCMP were called again to assist the Fire Department in the area of 52nd Avenue and 44th Street.  Firefighters had responded to a call of a fence on fire in a back alley.   Investigators determined that a small bag of garbage had been lit on fire next to the wooden fence.
