The fall sitting of the Alberta Legislature began with Lieutenant Governor Don Ethell delivering the Throne Speech on November 17th.
Premier Jim Prentice's government promises to keep its spending in line by limiting it to below the level of inflation plus population growth.
However Bruce Rowe, the Wildrose Party MLA for Olds-Didsbury-Three Hills, says we'll have to see how this will all roll out at the end of the session.
Rowe says you would think the Wildrose Party wrote the speech because the plans touch on what they have been trying to get the Tories to do for two years.
Prentice says he will continue to spend on infrastructure, save for the future, and not impose a sales tax. But he will no longer commit to his earlier promise to not tinker with Alberta's 10-per-cent flat tax on income.
