Olds College Broncos Awards Night

The accomplishments of the 2018-2019 season were celebrated by Broncos Athletics during the annual awards banquet on Wednesday, April 3rd at the TransCanada Theatre.

For the second season in a row Brittney Thibeaux took home the honours as Olds College's Female Athlete of the Year.
The Lake Villa, Illinois product became the second student-athlete in Broncos history to receive the nod as the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) playter of the year in women's basketball. She was also the ACAC (Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference) player of the year.
Thibeaux was an integral part of the CCAA national championship performance for the Broncos women's basketball team.
The women's basketball team won the Broncos first national title in any CCAA sport this season. Thibeaux was named the Most Valuable Player at both the provincial and national tournaments.
Meanwhile, Fabian Gromenida received Olds College's Male Athlete of the Year honours.
The striker from Formosa, Argentina scored 11 goals in 10 regular season games as he was named to the ACAC South All-Conference team in soccer. Gromenida was then recognized as an ACAC All-Tournament team player at the provincial futsal championships in March in Lethbridge.
