Olds Chamber Hosts 2018 Business Awards Recognition & Celebration

The Olds College Alumni Centre was packed on Wednesday, October 10th as the Olds & District Chamber of Commerce celebrated the local business community.

The 2018 Business Awards Recognition and Celebration was held on Wednesday, October 10th at the Olds College Alumni Centre.

The Olds & District Chamber of Commerce handed out a total of 8 awards during the evening.

Owners Bruce & Mary Beiber were very honoured and thanked their staff after accepting the Business of the Year award in the 16+ employees category.

Bruce says the town of Olds and the Olds Chamber have been great to them during the past 24 years.

Owner Candice Klimek detailed a little bit about her history and what the Cocoa Tree Bake Shoppe is known for after accepting the award for Business of the Year in the 15 or fewer employees category.

Klimek says the Cocoa Tree Bake Shoppe has been open on 49th Avenue since 2009.

The Better Business Bureau's Business Ethics award for 2018 belongs to Shopper's Drug Mart in Olds.

The Exceptional Customer Service honours were bestowed upon Cindy Smith from Advanced Telecom, while the Youth Employee of the Year was accepted by Nolan Layden from World Class Contracting.

Hildebrand Motors was the Community Spirit award winner in the for-profit category, while non-profit Community Spirit award went to Olds Fashioned Christmas.

Otto's Home Appliance is this year's People's Choice award recipient.
