National Indigenous Peoples Day Celebrations In Olds

National Indigenous Peoples Day will be celebrated in Olds which is part of Treaty 7 Territory and Region 3 of the Metis Nation of Alberta.

About 600 students and the public will be taking part in the celebrations during National Indigenous Peoples Day in Olds.
 
Olds Institute Executive Director Mitch Thompson says celebrations will be held on Friday in Centennial Park starting at 9am.
 
 
 
 
Thompson says this community event is free of charge.
 
 
 
 
If the weather does not hold up the activities will be moved inside the Olds Cow Palace.
 
There is also an event on Thursday, June 21st with a performance of New Blood, which is a truth and reconciliation story and a theatrical production.
 
That event is at the TransCanada Theatre. Tickets are available at EventBrite for $20 dollars.
