Fortis and the Central Alberta Rural Electrification Association will have to continue discussions on how to bring three-phase power to the Eagle Hill area after Wednesday's decision by council.
Mountain View County Council has decided they will not allow the twinning of power lines in the county.
The decision came at Wednesday's council meeting after a delegation from the Central Alberta Rural Electrification Association expressed their concern over a proposed plan by Fortis to bring three-phase power to the Eagle Hill area.
That plan would have seen powerlines built on the opposite side of the road where the CAREA lines currently stand.
Jim Towle, Chairman of CAREA, says there will be a need for upgrading in the future, but that won't be an issue to provide.
Towle says their major concern was the unappealing affect the congestion of powerlines would have on the landscape for residents.
