MV County To Receive Olds College's Partner of the Year Award At Homestead Feast

Mountain View County will be presented with Olds College's 2018 Partner of the Year Award on Friday, April 13th during the new annual fundraiser - the Homestead Feast.

The new annual fundraiser for Olds College is coming up on Friday, April 13th.
 
OC's Homestead Feast is a one of a kind event featuring a field to fork dining experience showcasing locally produced food as well as entertainment.
 
It will also include the presentation of the Olds College's 2018 Partner of the Year award to Mountain View County.
 
Reeve Bruce Beattie is grateful to see the college recognize the role the County plays by assisting in any way they can and specifically funding agricultural programs.
 
 
Beattie says Mountain View County has a special relationship with Olds College.
 

The Homestead Feast is at the Olds College Alumni Centre. This year it will support the creation of the Animal Health Education Centre at Olds College.

  • Olds Fire Department Responds To Electrical Hazard At Cornerstone

    On Tuesday, April 17th just after 5pm the Olds Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire in the 6700 block of 46th Street. Upon arrival, crews determined there was no fire, but there was smoke being produced inside one of the occupancies from malfunctioning electrical equipment. According to the OFD, the nature of the incident was due to the failure of an electrical transformer from a nearby power service. No injuries were reported.
