Mountain View Colts Set To Begin 2020 HJHL Playoffs On 96.5 CKFM

The Mountain View Colts are set to clash with the Stettler Lightning again to open up the Heritage Junior Hockey League post-season. The two teams last met in the playoffs in 2018. The Colts won that best of three opening round series two games to one.

The Heritage Junior Hockey League are ready to playoffs begin on 96.5 CKFM.
21 year old forward Travis Gerrard has some simple advise for the Mountain View Colts as they start the post-season.

Gerrard - who is from Southy, Saskatchewan - was one of the heroes during the Colts thrilling playoff run to the Northern Division Final last season. He led them in goals with 8 and points with 17 in 15 games during the 2019 playoffs - that included a pair of overtime game winning goals. Gerrard was second for Mountain View this season in goals with 17 and points with 35 in 32 games.

Colts Captain Alan Klinck says Stettler is a gritty team.

While there was no change to their playoff positioning possible, Klinck says the Colts will have to be better than they were during the regular season finale in Sylvan Lake on Sunday during a 4-3 loss to the third place Wranglers.

Klinck was fourth on the Colts this season with 30 points in 34 games.

Mountain View wound up fourth in the Northern Division with a record of 19 wins, 16 losses and 3 overtime defeats.

The fifth place Stettler Lightning enter the playoffs in the midst of a six game losing streak. Stettler was 11-24-and-3 during the regular season.

Mountain View started the season by defeating the Lightning 6-3 in Didsbury. The Lightning struck back by winning 4-3 in Stettler on November 8th. The Colts won big 8-2 at home on January 10th. The final game of their season series saw 19 year old goalie Noah Campbell from Didsbury earn his first career win and shutout. He made 22 stops as the Colts won 4-zip on the road.
