Innisfail RCMP Track Stolen Generator & Arrest Two Individuals

Innisfail RCMP would like to thank the continued efforts of local crime watch groups and recognize them as a valued partner in rural crime reduction efforts.

Innisfail, Alberta ~ On Friday, May 10th at approximately 10am Innisfail RCMP were notified by Blackfalds RCMP that a generator had been stolen from a rural location near Gas Alley.

The generator had been tracked to a rural location near Spruceview, where it appeared to stop. Innisfail RCMP entered into an investigation to attempt to locate the generator.

During this ongoing investigation Innisfail RCMP received a tip from a member of the Raven Crime Watch Society.

This tip ultimately led to the recovery of the generator as well as the arrest of two males.

Innisfail RCMP would like to thank the continued efforts of local crime watch groups and recognize them as a valued partner in rural crime reduction efforts.

29 year old Brandon Edmond Wegner of Penhold has been charged with:

· Possess stolen property over $5000
· Possess break in tools
· Possess weapon dangerous to public peace
· Breach recognizance X6

Wegner was brought before a Justice of the Peace and remanded to appear in Red Deer Provincial Court Monday May 13th, 2018 at 08:30am

23 year old Jaydyn Warrick Lovelace of Red Deer has been charged with:

· Possess stolen property over $5000
· Possess break in tools
· Possess weapon dangerous to public peace

Lovelace was released to appear in Red Deer provincial court June 24th, 2019 at 08:30am.

Mayor Rhonda Hunter says there will be a 2% decrease for the business community on the non-residential side. As for residential ratepayers, there is a 2% increase. Hunter adds the assessments overall in the community are down compared to last year, generally due to the economic outlook in Alberta. Non-residential ratepayers will save about $70 in taxes compared to last year, following a discussion with the Didsbury Chamber according to Mayor Hunter.
