Grade 10 Student From Innisfail High School Wins National Essay Writing Contest

A student from Innisfail High School will be celebrating Canada Day in style when she attends celebrations on Parliament Hill in a few weeks. Adele Beaudoin wrote an essay for a Government of Canada contest and was selected as the winner out of hundreds of entrants. The contest asked students between the ages of 8-18 years old what makes them proud to be Canadian.

A Grade 10 student from Innisfail High School has been awarded the top prize after completing the Government of Canada's essay contest "Write It!".
 
15 year old Adele Beaudoin will now fly to Parliament Hill this Canada Day thanks to her essay called "The Sky"
 
Beaudoin says she was doing research for a social studies project and stumbled on the contest on the government website. She talks about her essay.
 
 
Beaudoin is proud to be Canadian.
 
 
Beaudoin was selected from hundreds of students across Canada and she will enjoy her prize of attending Canada Day celebrations in Ottawa with her mom.
 
She also received an iPad from the National Film Board of Canada where she will learn to create a digital story.
