Darcy Dobush is hoping voters in the municipal by-election on Monday, January 20th will give him another shot at sitting at the Olds council table.
Among the seven candidates running for the one spot available on Olds council is Darcy Dobush.
The 57 year old is self employed and runs his own business - Olds Contracting.
Dobush was on council about 10 years ago, but had to cut his term short due to a conflict with time and family matters.
Dobush didn't just want to sit back and complain so he has thrown his hat back into the ring for another chance to sit at the council table.
He lists the one of the key topics for this by-election as the potential borrowing of a $10 million dollar debenture to fund the town's new operations centre, as well as the smell of cannabis that Uptowne Olds businesses have to contend with coming from the marijuana facilities in the southeast portion of the town.
When it comes to the town providing funding to the Olds Regional Exhibition, Dobush had this to say.
He is encouraged to see so many people vying for the open spot on Olds town council.
The municipal by-election for the one available seat at the Olds council table is coming up on Monday, January 20th from 8am until 8pm at the Olds Royal Canadian Legion.
