Crossfield Fraud Investigation Results In Charge Against An RCMP Member

A fraud investigation has resulted in a charge against an RCMP member. Constable Sean Taylor has been a regular member of the RCMP for 12 years. He has been suspended from duty with pay since June 27, 2017.

In April of 2017, the RCMP Serious Crimes Branch General Investigation Section began an investigation into misappropriated funds from a charity called "Whoo's Crew" at the Crossfield Elementary School spanning from October of 2015 - November of 2016.

The investigation determined that a number of charges were supported.

Constable Sean Taylor, a member of the RCMP, and Ms. Cori Taylor of Crossfield have been jointly charged with one count of possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.

In addition to that charge, Cori Taylor has been charged with the following: one count of uttering a forged document, one count of fraud over $5000, five counts of fraud under $5000, three counts of forgery, one count of false pretenses to obtain credit over $5000.

Sean and Cori Taylor are set to appear in court on October 26th in Airdrie.

Police say as this matter is before the courts no further details will be provided at this time.
