Blake Richards Wins MP Seat In Banff-Airdrie Riding

42,227 voters in the Banff-Airdrie riding cast their ballots in favour of Blake Richards this week. The Conservative MP defeated his nearest competitor - Marlo Raynolds of the Liberals - by nearly 25,000 votes.

After serving as the MP for Wildrose since 2008, Blake Richards will return to Ottawa representing a new riding this year.

On Monday, Richards was elected by more than 63 per cent of the Banff-Airdrie constituents.

He says it was a priviledge an honour to serve as the Member of Parliament for his hometown area.

Richards is looking forward to working with his 99 Conservative Party colleagues to form the official opposition in Parliament.

Richards appreciates being granted the opportunity for a third term in Parliament.

While he will no longer be the MP for the Olds and Mountain View County area, Richards feels better knowing it has been left in good hands with the election of his Conservative colleague Earl Dreeshen
