Alberta Transportation Update - Rosebud River Bridge

Bridge Manager with Alberta Transportation Donald Saunders says it looks like there will be a construction crew on Highway 582 over the Rosebud River 0.5 kilometers east of Didsbury on Friday, April 20th to reconstruct the detour road bridge.

Alberta Transportation is expected to repair the detour bridge road on Highway 582 in Didsbury on Friday, April 20th.

Bridge Manager with Alberta Transportation Donald Saunders says this is weather dependent.

According to Alberta Transportation, the work will consist of removing failed areas of  the detour road and reconstructing them. The road will be repaved at a later date, once hot mix asphalt is available. In order to properly complete these repairs the detour road will be closed for about one day while the work is completed. Traffic will be detoured on the local roads to the south for one day while the detour is reconstructed.

Meanwhile, he says the permanent Rosebud River Bridge has been tendered.

The permanent bridge is expected to be complete by late summer or early fall 2018.

Saunders reminds motorists to obey all traffic signs and to drive safe. Road users can check for updated traffic and construction information at 511.Alberta.ca or by calling 5-1-1.
